Fluent Japanese Commodities Client Services

We are searching for a Fluent Japanese speaker work on our client's Metals Commodity sales/trading desk, to Execute trading requests from base metals clientele with a clear focus on our Japanese speaking portfolio.

The role will report to the Head of Sales in London, however there will be close interaction with our Tokyo sales team who manage 25+ Japanese clients.

You will be part of a team of sales professionals in London and interact with numerous departments within the company: primarily trading, credit and operations.

In the short-term, the role would day-to-day servicing/execution of client business, but as you mature in the role, you will be expected to expand into business development, travel frequently and assist with European client coverage.

Interaction with clients predominantly takes place via telephone, email and electronic messenger.

Be required to produce a daily Japanese trading report for both clients and colleagues.

ideally You would be expected to have proficient knowledge or Eikon, Bloomberg, LME Select, as well as internal trading platforms and order management system.

Candidate Profile

• Fluent in Japanese and English.
• Has experience a minimum of 2 years’ experience within commodity and/or financial markets.
• Diligent and hardworking with an attention to detail.
• Driven to succeed and pass regulatory examinations and internal compliance and IT security training.
• Demonstrate ability to cope with high pressure situations, both internally on the trading desk and externally when dealing with customers.
• Regularly visit clients and prospects, further attend industry trade fairs and conferences.

• Be proficient in Microsoft Office.

Location and Hours

• The position is usually based in our London Head Office.
• Hours are 07:30 to 17:30, Monday to Friday,
• Currently hybrid working with a minimum three days in the office.
