We are looking for a Portfolio Operations Analyst to support the London real estate investment team. Ideally you will have

  • At least 5 years of relevant fund operation and analytical experience
  • Real estate fund industry experience is highly preferred
  • University degree in relevant field (business, accounting, property, or similar)
  • Highly numerate, proficient with time management and prioritisation
  • Advanced user of Excel (experience in visual basic or other programming language is an advantage)

The team function provides operational support to the private market business groups and helps drive overall corporate efficiencies and enhances business capabilities by continually making process improvements.

You will also be responsible for data collection, data analysis and management reporting.,


Key Responsibilities

1. Investment Support

  • Solid working knowledge of the end-to-end investment processes and data requirements for set up of new investments on internal systems.
  • Become a subject matter expert in process advisory, mastering internal real estate processes and investment approval frameworks, and assisting investment teams on submissions to investment committees.
  • Provide data analytics support for the underwriting of new investments.
  • Deal closing support, working alongside deal teams and ensuring that all processes required to close the transaction are completed
  • Work with external partners (e.g. due diligence consultants, legal firms, etc) to set up necessary information flows.
  1. Asset Management Operations
  2. Technology and Process Improvement
  • Oversee the collection and analysis of real estate operating data from external operating partners. Support the data collection system to optimise collection, integrity and analytics.
  • Evaluate and analyse real estate investment performance data including investment returns, market values and other property-level operating data.
  • Assist with the preparation of various investment and portfolio level operating and performance reports on a quarterly, half-yearly and annual basis. This includes coordination of reporting cycles to meet timelines required by the internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understanding asset plans and drafting annual budgets.
  • Assist with other asset management functions (e.g. audit of asset management, investment fees and promote paid to the operating partners).
  • Actively participate in process improvements that create efficiencies and support capability to the investment professionals.
  • Identify emerging property technology trends and match these to business requirements, and develop analytics for the purpose of enhancing business insights.
  • Lead process automation efforts utilising current and future technological advancements.

Preferred

  • Institutional real estate asset management or property management knowledge, including working knowledge of property leases, terminology, valuation principles
  • Working knowledge of property valuation principles and investment evaluation metrics, including experience with cash flow modelling
  • Keen understanding of property technology landscape, and how business intelligence tools can be used for visualisation and automation
